The effect of time in healing or growing an antidote for pain may be over-estimated. If we tend to our pain as a wound that does not heal, then time cannot work its magic. It’s a matter of where we put our focus. If we can move past, by bringing in new interests and creating new pathways, the old ones get overgrown. As adoptees especially, no matter where the pain originated, or who or the many who’s who are to blame, we are responsible for finding out and seeking what makes us happy. That way time seems to put issues that once loomed large into the rear view mirror. Here’s to growing, to not knowing where we are going necessarily, but to definitely realizing that the past is not a place we belong. I’ve taken some photos from a recent road trip that illuminate the effect of time on things, since we only behavior shows its effect on our psyches.
